As of Collect for Stripe version 2.6.1, you can turn your Android device into a mobile credit card reader.

Android Tap to Pay includes support for Mastercard, Visa, and American Express contactless cards and NFC-based mobile wallets (Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay). No additional hardware or terminals needed! It’s easy, secure, and private.

*Please note you must be running Android 10 or later. Be sure to enable NFC in your device settings.

Once enabled, to connect, open the main menu in Collect and use the Connect Reader flow just as you would any other card reader. You will see “Android Built-In” as a reader option.

Customers will be prompted at appropriate times to tap their card or Android device directly to your Android device, just like any other card reader.
